After a series reboot that was met by a mixture of opinion Ubisoft attempted to get back to the time-stopping routes with their latest Prince of Persia title. Taking place between the excellent Sands of Time and the particularly moody The Warrior Within players once again take control of the titular Prince as he jumps, slashes and wall runs his way to saving the kingdom. So if you’re looking to get the reboot out of your head or just fancy a solid action game, this return to form for the series is worth a look.
e still yet to see the Prince of Persia film, perhaps because I still can't wrap my head around the idea of a bulked up Donnie Darko doing parkour and speaking in an English accent. On a side note, what genius thought a supposedly Persian prince should speak with a 'British' slant? Is that America considers exotic? On topic, though, the tie-in game, The Forgotten Sands, is now sitting happy at a sub-tenner price. It's not based off the film, instead rethinking the plot and characters and basing events around the eponymous Prince's ability to master the elements. A promising concept, and for a film tie-in it's apparently pretty good. Matt liked it, so you might, too. And at this price...
